Dr. Janet Yu, DTCM, RAC, (MD-China)

Dr. Janet Yu, DTCM, RAC is a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncturist, and has 35 years of clinical experience and has been serving the Tri-Cities for the last 25 years.Dr. Janet Yu graduated from Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the People’s Republic of China. She is a trained physician in both Chinese and Western medicine. Dr. Yu worked for three years in the Emergency Department of one of the largest provincial hospitals in the Shandong province. She then continued her medical work in the hospital’s Internal Medicine department for another two years.In 1986, along with her husband, Jim, she immigrated to Canada and settled in Victoria before moving to Vancouver, and then Coquitlam (in 1990). In Victoria, she continued her passion for the medical field and taught Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at two TCM colleges for more than three years.

Dr. Yu has helped thousands of patients in pain management (including arthritis, back and neck pains, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, sciatica, plantar fascia, headache pain), hormonal imbalances (including irregular menstruations, infertility, thyroid disorders, menopause), and neurological disorders (including depression, anxiety, insomnia).

She uses various techniques including acupressure, cupping, and pulse and tongue diagnosis. Dr. Yu has being practicing Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Coquitlam area since 1990. During these years, she was also an instructor at Langara College and the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has also been on the Board of Examiners for TCM College.

Dr. Yu has also served as a non-staff practitioner at Vancouver General Hospital and the UBC Health Sciences Centre.
